Ex Pupil Helps Athletics Team

Ex pupil Margot Gibson came to help out the Athletics team last Thursday. Margot, now a Year 11 at St. Margarets, still holds our Junior 60m and 1000m records. Margot is the current NZ Sec. Schools Junior Cross country Champion, North and South Island Colgate Games Champion in Grade 13 for the 800/1500m and the Inter Provincial Grade 13 Athletics Champion. She gave us some hints about relay running and then helped out our long jumpers.

Margot leaves next Saturday to represent New Zealand in the Pacific School Games in Canberra.

Blue Milo Cricket Team Qualify

The Blue Milo Cricket team yesterday beat the Avonhead Red Aces to gain qualification into the top eight Milo Trophy Cricket finals. This will be an all day tournament held at Hagley Park on Friday 12 December. The Blue team are our top team playing in the Milo Trophy Red Grade. They are unbeaten this season beating Elmwood A, Harewood A, Roydvale A and Avonhead A to top their pool.

We had a fantastic team effort all day with seven out of eight relay teams winning and 35 children qualifying for the ANZ Primary Sports Canterbury Athletic Sports (Centrals) on Tuesday 2 December @ QEII - the biggest ever number we have had!
