Sprint Record Smashed

Sam H smashed the Senior Boys' 60m sprint record at the Eliminations' Day today by recording 8.44 seconds in his heat to claim his place in the record books. The record was 8.55 seconds held since 2003 by Joseph T. A favourable tail wind and some very good competition helped him achieve this excellent time.

No other school records were beaten today but there were some excellent performances both on the track and in the field. Alex H. was impressive in throwing 26.50m in the Senior Boys' Discus and 7.10m in the Shot to be top qualifier in both events. Goldie H. was dominant in the Senior Girls' 1200m but will unfortunately be on her way to the New York Marathon when the Championship Finals are held on Thursday evening, 29th October.
